ENCOUNTER III - Soft Skills

Encounter III explores the role of so-called soft skills in everyday life, examining how rituals, care, and emotions are shaped through objects, spaces, and social interactions. Bringing together works from design, craftsmanship, and artistic practice, the exhibition highlights forms of knowledge that often remain invisible, yet profoundly influence how people relate to themselves and to others. It creates a shared space in which emotional experiences become tangible through materiality, participation, and exchange.

Rituals run like a common thread throughout the exhibition. They emerge in gestures of gathering, adornment, care, and everyday routines. Vessels, jewellery, pharmaceutical products, and food reference familiar practices while inviting visitors to reconsider their cultural, social, and personal significance.

Communication unfolds not only through language but also through play, touch, atmosphere, and presence. An inclusive board game, spatial interventions, and object-based works open new perspectives on empathy, belonging, and collective well-being.

The exhibited works exist at the intersection of function, emotion, and aesthetics. They create situations in which care is not only addressed as a concept but becomes something that can be experienced. Through interaction and participation, new forms of exchange emerge, encouraging visitors to question their own habits, relationships, and perspectives while engaging with the experiences of others.

The exhibition understands objects not merely as functional or aesthetic artefacts, but as catalysts for encounter, reflection, and dialogue. It asks how design can foster relationships, make care visible, and create opportunities for shared experiences. At Magistrale Space, Encounter III becomes a platform for collective experience and, as part of the Humain Encounters series, expands the exploration of care and emotion as fundamental forms of social and cultural knowledge.
